“The tall grass tangled – a woven tapestry of subtle colors – the sway of the breeze, pushed, and pulled by moments of stillness, shifting forms as it shapes the landscape”
As an artist captivated by the essence of place, I explore our evolving relationship with landscapes shaped by natural forces, time, and human influence. Merging realism with instinctual exploration, my work draws from a nomadic upbringing and a deep appreciation for design.
The creative process begins with real-time sketches, field notes, and photos, capturing ecosystems ranging from city parks and farmland to untouched wilderness. These initial studies serve as a foundation for inquiry, where experiences and memories – both real and imagined – intertwine with observation and reflection.
Layering, erasing, adding texture, and integrating elements like text and GPS data introduce new dimensions of abstraction and thought. This process deepens the engagement with materiality and the act of creation, enriching the exploration of our connection to the ever-changing world around us.
